KILGOUR 2019 Pinot Gris
Our Pinot Gris was hand harvested in February 2019 and gently whole bunch pressed to release the Pinot Gris' full flavour profile. Natural fermented occurred in older French barrels. The wine was left to unwind and age slowly on its ferment lees to add generosity. After 8 months the wine was racked and filtered prior to bottling in September.
This Gris displays a light white straw colour, with a green hue and brilliant clarity. A bouquet of nectarines and rose petal are complemented by pops of apricot and ginger spice. The nose is attractive and sweet, powerful and persistent. Guava and peaches with a pithy quince flow onto the palate, with complex undertones of nutmeg and ginger spice. The palate is rich and creamy that flows generously throughout the mouth. A hint of marzipan creeps in at the finish, leaving the consumer wanting more. A fine example of a maritime Pinot Gris.
Enjoy now or cellar until 2025. Try with salmon nori rolls, baked cauliflower cheese or three cheese soufflé.
